In a major scientific breakthrough, researchers at REMspace have achieved a once-fictional idea—two people successfully communicated within their dreams. This development brings the world closer to using lucid dreaming as a new medium for human interaction, opening up possibilities that were once relegated to the realm of science fiction.
What is Lucid Dreaming?
Lucid dreaming happens when a person becomes aware they’re dreaming while still in the dream itself. This awareness allows the dreamer to consciously navigate their dream and sometimes even change its course. It’s a state where control is possible, and it has the potential for real-world applications—from mastering new skills to resolving personal challenges.
A New Milestone in Dream Communication
On September 24, REMspace’s team conducted a groundbreaking experiment where two participants communicated while asleep, from separate locations. Researchers closely tracked their brain activity using specialized equipment. The process began when the first participant entered a lucid dream. At that point, a randomly selected word was transmitted to them through earbuds. The dreamer, fully aware that they were dreaming, repeated the word, and the response was captured.
Just eight minutes later, the second participant entered a lucid dream and received the stored message via their earbuds. Upon waking, she confirmed the word, making this the first documented exchange of information between two people within their dreams.

How Dream Communication Works
This achievement is the result of nearly five years of research and innovation at REMspace. The communication system uses a special language called “Remmyo,” created for use in lucid dreams. During the experiment, a server monitored participants’ brainwaves to detect when they had entered the REM sleep stage—when dreams are most vivid—and timed the transmission of messages accordingly.
While the first success involved delayed communication, the results prove that dream-based interaction is possible. The REMspace team is now focused on refining the technology to enable real-time conversations in dreams.
The Path to Real-Time Dream Conversations
Developing the ability to chat in real-time within dreams remains a challenge, but REMspace is working toward making it a reality. Michael Raduga, founder and CEO of REMspace, is optimistic about the future:
“Just yesterday, communicating in dreams was pure science fiction. Tomorrow, it will be so ordinary that we won’t be able to imagine life without it” Raduga said.
He believes this technology will change how people connect, unlocking commercial and social opportunities that we can only begin to imagine.
Beyond AI: Could Dream Communication Be the Next Big Thing?
REMspace envisions dream communication as a major technological breakthrough, potentially even rivaling artificial intelligence in terms of impact. The company’s technology allows users to experience fully immersive dream environments, where they can alter dream settings and personas, all while enjoying freedom from the physical limitations of reality. This opens up possibilities for creativity, problem-solving, and connection.
By 2025, REMspace aims to release the LucidMe PRO—a device that combines current lucid dreaming technology with advanced sleep monitoring capabilities. This gadget will track brain and muscle activity, giving users insights into their sleep and dreams through a mobile app.
